The sea stacks at Reynisfjara, known as Reynisdrangar, were formed millions of years ago by volcanic activity and subsequent erosion. Specifically, the basalt columns that make up the stacks are believed to have formed from lava flows that reached the ocean during ancient eruptions. These flows cooled rapidly, forming the distinctive hexagonal columns we see today. Over time, the surrounding rock eroded away, leaving the sea stacks as isolated pillars

China Beach is a small cove in located on the West Side of San Francisco in the city's Sea Cliffneighborhood. It lies between Baker Beach and Lands End and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It was once used as a campsite for Chinese fishermen who anchored their boats in the cove. There is a monument to them at the trailhead by the parking area by Sea Cliff Avenue
